The Philadelphia Union Academyâs U13 and U14 began a busy weekend schedule on Saturday afternoon with contests against TSF Academy. The Boys in Blue emerged victorious once more, sweeping the competition in MLS NEXT action.
The U13âs controlled the pace of their match against TSF Academy from the opening kickoff. The Union kept the ball in the attacking half for most of the game and converted more often than not on the day. Gunnar Graham scored a brace on the day and was inches away from making it a hat trick off of a free kick that bounced off the crossbar. Luke Vilary put home the rebound off of Gunnarâs free kick, while Nehan Hassan, James Soler, and Jamir Johnson each added one more to cap off a 6-0 victory.
Meanwhile the U14 squad used a well-balanced effort to take home the win against TSF Academy on Saturday. The Union took an early lead and never looked back seeing five different goal scorers on the way to a 6-0 victory. Jordan Griffin notched a brace, while Kellan LeBlanc, Emerson Kekesi, Stefan Chirilla, and Anthony Washington all converted once.
