Despite being away from Philly, the Union faithful were in full support on D.C. United's home pitch and they were treated to a memorable night as Julian Carranza bagged a second-half hat trick. The goals not only made him a double-digit scorer but the hat trick was his second of 2022 with the other coming against D.C. United in July. With the feat, Carranza not only became the first Union player to score multiple hat tricks but also joins Cobi Jones as the only players in Major League Soccer History to score two hat tricks against the same team in a single season.
