Philadelphia Union midfielder Borek Dockal had a memorable weekend at Talen Energy Stadium. The Czech midfielder recorded his first career MLS goal in the 3-2 win over D.C. United.
As the dust settled from the weekend, the league announced Dockal was named to MLS Team of the Week for his performance on Saturday. This is the first MLS Team of the Week honor for Dockal in his career.
After a Fafa Picault pass was deflected in the box, Dockal gathered control and sent an absolute rocket that found the back of the net to give the Union the win.
Not only did Dockal earn the game-winning goal, he was all over the pitch logging over 100 touches and distributing seven key passes in the contest. This is now the fourth time a member of the Union has been selected to MLS Team of the Week.
Dockal joins Alejandro Bedoya and Jack Elliott as Philadelphia players to be selected to MLS Team of the Week. Bedoya was selected after his performance against San Jose Earthquakes, while Elliott has been named twice to Team of the Week.
Philadelphia will be back in action this Friday when they travel to Canada to take on Toronto FC at BMO Field.
