For the third time in 2023, Philadelphia Union fans have chosen El Brujo as the winner of the BIMBO Goal of the Month!
Jose Martinez's third goal of the year marks his third "of the month" after he entered the year having never scored as a member of the Boys in Blue. Brujo's latest winner came on September 16th against Supporters' Shield winners FC Cincinnati and it set the ton for the playoff rematch. The lead-claiming play began when Mikael Uhre brought the ball down the sideline to Philadelphia’s attacking end, finding Daniel Gazdag near the top of the box. Maneuvering out of traffic, Gazdag passed away from the goal to Jack McGlynn, who spotted José Martinez alone, anticipating, and in his favorite spot outside the box in the center. El Brujo did what he does best and nailed the ball from distance, past three Orange kits and to the back of the net for his third goal of the season.
