Since 2014, Jim Curtin has led Philadelphia Union to three US Open Cup finals and two playoff appearances. He has grown from the youngest coach in MLS to one of the more thoughtful and flexible leaders in the league. His team has moved fluidly between formations as it has climbed the Eastern Conference standings despite missing star signing Marco Fabian for much of the year.
Curtin recently sat down with KYW Radio's Mat Leon to talk about his coaching journey, and how it feels to have taken that journey in the city where he developed as a player before Chicago Fire drafted him.
