Philadelphia Union midfielder Daniel Gazdag helped propel the club to its best start in history and has been named the Independence Blue Cross Player of March.
The Hungarian midfielder started all three matches in March and bagged a goal in each contest as the Union claimed all nine points in the first full month of the 2022 Major League Soccer campaign. Gazdag netted the game winner on the road in Montreal, streaking up the left channel and finishing off a low cutback from Julian Carranza.
One week later it was Gazdag bagging his second goal of the month with an infamous panenka from the penalty spot against the San Jose Earthquakes. The midfielder made it three for three on March 19th, making a hard back post run to tap in a cross from Nathan Harriel that put the Boys in Blue ahead against the defending MLS Cup Champions, New York City FC.
