Former Philadelphia Union homegrown Mark McKenzie came on as a second-half substitute for KRC Genk and helped the club see out the a 2-1 win over Standard Liege in the Belgium Cup Final.
McKenzie comes the second American to win the Belgian Cup, joining former Union defender Oguchi Onyewu. Overall, McKenzie has made 11 combined appearances for the Belgium side since arriving in January.
The title was Genk's fifth Belgium Cup in team history and now are looking to add a second piece of silverware to their trophy case as they begin the Championship playoffs against Club Brugge, Anderlecht, and Royal Antwerp.
Genk kicks off its six-match schedule on April 30th at Royal Antwerp before back-to-back home matches with Club Brugge and Anderlecht.
