Only four teams remain in Leagues Cup ahead of Wednesday's Semifinals so you might be wondering, who can host the Leagues Cup Final on August 25th? Let's take a look.
Throughout the tournament, hosting rights have been determined using the Leagues Cup Ranking. This ranking is decided by combined MLS and LIGA MX club performance based on points in the last 34 regular-season matches. MLS teams are ranked based on the 2023 MLS Supporters’ Shield standings, while LIGA MX clubs are ranked based on the cumulative 34 matches in the 2023 Clausura and Apertura tournaments.
The current rankings for the four remaining teams are Columbus Crew (No. 6), Philadelphia Union (No. 9), LAFC (No. 15) and the Colorado Rapids (No. 46). Based upon the order, the winner of Wednesday night's Semifinal in Ohio will host the Leagues Cup Final while the other is guaranteed to host the Third-Place Match on Sunday, August 25th.
