Jack Elliott continues to make a name for himself in his MLS Rookie of the Year campaign. Although the Union fell to New England Revolution on Saturday, Elliott fought hard in the match to prevent the Revs from adding more points to the score sheet, and in the end earned the IBX Live Fearless Man of the Match title respectively.
Elliott played 90 minutes in the game with only one foul committed and was a strong player on the pitch for the Union. His most impressive defending skills came in the 49th minute of the match when New England midfielder Diego Fagundez attempted a shot on goal. Elliott was there to help defend the net, kicking the ball out of the goal line for an impressive save.
Elliott, a fourth round draft pick, has continued to be a key player for the Union this season. The unlikely centerback line pairing between Elliott and Oguchi Onyewu has developed into one of the top pairings in MLS.
Elliott and the Boys in Blue will take on FC Dallas at home on August 5. Kick-off for the match is set to 7 p.m. ET.
