Philadelphia Union homegrown Jack McGlynn capped off an eventful week by claiming the Subaru Park Showdown title on Saturday night. McGlynn turned 18 on Wednesday, netting a beauty of a goal with Union II and Friday night and then showed his skills on the sticks in the FIFA tournament presented by Esports Entertainment Group and Esports Gaming League.
McGlynn want locked in from the start with his four wins in the tournament seeing 22 goals bagged while only conceding six in his path to the title. After netting a 3-1 win in the opening round, the midfielder found his groove with an 8-1 result to secure his spot in the semifinals. Facing off against a familiar faec in the Union esports competitions, McGlynn got past TimothyHalter by a 4-2 margin before racking up a 7-2 win in the final against Loaziy,
McGlynn wasn't the only Union player to get in on the action as Brazilian's Sergio Santos and Ilsinho joined in the tournament. Both notched opening round wins with Santos claiming a 4-2 win before falling in the next round. Five-star skill moves Ilsinho notched a 2-1 win in his first match but fell late to Halter in the quarterfinals by a 3-2 margin.
