Gear For Good Donation Drive
In honor of Greener Goals and in partnership with Subaru, the Philadelphia Union is hosting a Subaru: Gear for Good donation drive at the game on April 18. Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently used gear, including soccer balls, cleats, goalie gloves, shin guards, socks, and shorts to support families in need. Donations can be dropped off pregame at the U-Serve Tent on Subaru Plaza, with all items benefiting Leveling the Playing Field. Â
The drive continues the Philadelphia Union’s commitment to volunteerism efforts through the U-Serve platform, presented by Bimbo Bakeries USA. U-Serve connects fans with volunteer opportunities across Greater Philadelphia and offers tiered rewards, including Union swag and exclusive experiences. Union Yards
Located just across from the Sons of Ben Tailgate lots, the ‘Dogfish Head Bar at Union Yards’ features a 50-foot full bar serving 20 beers on tap as well as wine, liquor, and soft drinks. The 4,000-square-foot main hall includes a rustic brick façade, nine clear glass garage doors, 15-foot ceiling fans, nine rows of communal tables, and 10 big screen TVs showing games across Major League Soccer as well as all Philly sporting events.
Union Yards opens three hours before kick off, at 4:30PM ET on Saturday, and will be open until 10:30PM.
The ‘GIANT Tailgate at Union Yards’ features tailgate games, lounge seating and firepits with string lights overhead and trees throughout.
Gameday Timeline
All gates will open at 6PM ET for the Union's home match against D.C. United on Saturday.
In addition to gate opening, the Union shop will open at 5PM for guests along with Subaru Plaza opening at 5:30PM.
Zero Landfill
With the Philadelphia Union's innovative, forward-thinking initiatives and Subaru's long history of environmentalism and zero landfill expertise, the Union and Subaru have made Subaru Park the first zero landfill soccer stadium in Major League Soccer. To achieve this, Subaru Park reduces, reuses, and recycles more than 90% of its waste with the remaining waste converted to energy, thereby putting nothing into landfills since officially declaring zero-landfill status in 2021. By creating in-stadium messaging and an easy system for fans to sort their waste, Subaru and the Union cut the amount of waste each fan generated in half and increased the amount of waste fans recycle five-fold. Helping to keep trash out of landfills is just another way Subaru lives up to its commitment to support the Philadelphia community through its partnership with the Philadelphia Union.
