Philadelphia Union announced today that Oliver Mbaizo has received an international call-up for Cameroon ahead of the upcoming FIFA international window. The defender is part of eight call-ups in September which include Andre Blake (Jamaica), Daniel Gazdag (Hungary), Jose Martinez (Venezuela) in addition to Paxten Aaronson, Jack McGlynn, Quinn Sullivan, and Brandan Craig receiving call ups to the U-20 USMNT.
Mbaizo joins the Cameroon National Team for two international friendlies. This is Mbaizo's 10th senior call up for Cameroon as they prepare for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Mbaizo earned 11 senior international caps for the Indomitable Lions, his first when he made his debut as a substitute in a friendly vs. Gabon on September 6, 2016. Cameroon will play against Uzbekistan (Sep. 23, 6:00 a.m.) and South Korea (Sep. 27, 7:00 a.m.).
