Ahead of Philadelphia Union’s 2020 home opener against San Jose Earthquakes at Subaru Park, fans can expect some exciting new activities and concessions when they arrive in Chester on Saturday afternoon.
New State-of-the-art Videoboard
Subaru Park will feature an all-new, high dynamic range (HDR) videoboard for the 2020 season. This will be the first HDR-compatible videoboard in a Philadelphia sports venue and the first in any MLS soccer-specific venue. The board will be 109 ft. x 32 ft. with 3,440 sq. ft. of video surface, a 281% increase in surface, and feature a 200% increase in resolution. The stadium will also feature upgraded LED ribbons around the field and bowl as well as more than 200 new monitors throughout the stadium and concourse.
Subaru Driver Benefits
If you drive a Subaru to Union matches this season, you could park for free! The first 70 fans to arrive at Lot B of Subaru Park will not be charged for parking! Signs will be set up on Seaport Drive directing Subaru owners to the free parking and when all the free spots are taken, the signage will be updated to reflect that capacity has been reached.
New Foods
When you think of the City of Brotherly Love, you think cheesesteaks, and section 107 inside Subaru Park will be the home of the award-winning Philip’s Steaks. Wit or witout onions, you’ll be left satisfied after chowing down on this Philly food staple that was voted the top cheesesteak in the city.
Another must-have when you take in the beautiful game is the all-American hot dog and you’ll be able to taste some of the best with The Original Hot Dog Factory in sections 104 and 125.
The Stadium Club inside Subaru Park is also expanding it’s popular menu with the additions of a lobster roll and various types of sushi.
Subaru Plaza
The popular pregame spot has expanded to it’s largest size yet with new activities added and the return of a fan favorite.
As you’ve seen on our social media channels, the Union and Subaru are helping adoptable dogs look for their furever homes! Over the years dozens of dogs have made their way from the Subaru Plaza to the homes of Union fans, and the tradition continues this season.
After you pet a friendly pup, show off your stick skills with a new Union E-sports mobile truck being set up on Subaru Plaza. Fans of all ages invited to play EA Sports FIFA 20 as well as other popular games.
As part of the Subaru Love Promises, fans will be able to make both soccer and pet donations to help the community. Bring your new or gently used soccer equipment, including cleats, to Subaru Plaza. Pet food and supplies are also welcome! The goal of the donations is to provide underserved communities the equipment and resources needed to become active and experience the game of soccer in and around the city as well assisting in animal welfare in the Greater Philadelphia community.
Throughout the season fans will see the creation of a community garden near Subaru Plaza that will grow fresh fruits and vegetables and be donated to local communities in need.
