Philadelphia Union Academy Announces New Additions For 2024-25 Season

With the MLS NEXT campaign kicking off on Saturday morning, Philadelphia Union Academy announced today its 2024-25 signing class for upcoming season.

The Union added 14 players during the summer period to bolster the best Academy in Major League Soccer. The Union Academy is coming off another championship winning season which saw the U-17s become the first MLS side to win back-to-back Generation adidas Cup Championships at the age level.

"I would like to welcome our newest additions to the Philadelphia Union Academy and a massive thank you to the clubs that have worked with and prepared these players for this opportunity, which is a testament to the strength of their developmental environments," Philadelphia Union Director of Academy and Professional Development Jon Scheer said. "This group joins a motivated and talented player pool at the academy, supported by a staff steadfast in their commitment to developing each player to their fullest potential. Thank you to our scouting department for their comprehensive efforts throughout the identification and recruitment process. Their work is a crucial component that contributes to the overall success and efficiency of our academy."

Philadelphia Union Academy opens its new season this weekend as the U-18s, U-16s, U-14s and U-13s host Achilles FC at the Widener University Turf Fields at the WSFS Bank Sportsplex on Saturday, September 7th. All four matches will be streamed for free for fans to watch the next generation of Union talent and can be viewed by clicking here.
