Philadelphia Union homegrown Quinn Sullivan was named to Major League Soccer’s Team of the Week bench for Week 21, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
Sullivan notched his second goal of his rookie campaign in dramatic fashion on Saturday night, notching the equalizer against CF Montreal in the 87th minute of play. Seeing a gap at the top of the box, the homegrown rotated, and waited. Kai Wagner’s ball into the mixer fell to Jack Elliott and the center back showed off nimble feet to work it back to Sullivan.
First touch, eyes up, dinger. Sullivan got all of the ball and rifled it into the top right corner before leaping into Przybylko’s waiting arms.
Philadelphia Union are back in action on Saturday night when they travel down I-95 for a rivalry showdown with D.C. United. Kick off from the nation's capital is set for 8 p.m. ET and will be shown on PHL17 and PhiladelphiaUnion.com.
