With so many great assists in the first full month of MLS play, it was a difficult selection but in the end the combination play of Kai Wagner and Julian Carranza couldn't be denied for the Primepoint Assist of the Month.
Playing on the road against the defending MLS Cup Champions, the Union took advantage of a set piece chance and saw the Boys in Blue gain momentum that they wouldn't concede. Left back Kai Wagner began the scoring sequence with a perfect placed ball from a deep free kick position. The defender's volley went right to the penalty spot where forward Julian Carranza could get a right-footed touch that tapped the ball out wide to an open Alejandro Bedoya. Volley, tap, goal. Union were rolling at Yankee Stadium thanks to the perfect play from both Wagner and Carranza.
