Philadelphia Union Announce Hispanic Heritage Night at Subaru Park

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Union will celebrate a Hispanic Heritage Night at Subaru Park on 10/11 in their game against Montreal Impact, complete with a special virtual watch party that will be hosted by El Parcero Philly, with select Hispanic adult leagues and other members of the Hispanic community to be invited. During the match there will also be special Hispanic Heritage artwork displayed on the LEDs in Subaru Park.

The Union also hosted and is hosting a series of events and activities to highlight Hispanic Heritage Month including:

  • The Union partnered with the Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GPHCC) to drive awareness of Hispanic-owned businesses, including supporting Dine Latino Restaurant Week which provides information and options for Philadelphians searching for Latino- and Hispanic-run restaurants. Some Union players had an opportunity to enjoy a meal from local Hispanic-run restaurants and share their experiences with fans. Dine Latino Restaurant Week ran from September 30 to October 4.
  • In the continued spirit of giving back to the community, the Philadelphia Union donated 100 soccer balls to Super Liga, a Hispanic adult/youth soccer league based out of Conshohocken. This donation is a part of TUDN’s partnership with MLS Works and Allstate to make a donation to local charitable organizations in MLS markets that are positively impacting lives in Hispanic communities.
  • The Union will also recognize Hispanic members of the club and community, including Venezuelan midfielder Jose “El Brujo” Martínez, Hispanic members of the Philadelphia Union Academy, and, of course, our wonderful fans. Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month the Union will produce exclusive smartphone wallpapers to celebrate art that plays a prominent role in Hispanic culture.
  • In an effort to promote voter engagement, Philadelphia Union will be partnering with NALEO Educational Fund, a national non-profit organization that facilitates full Latino participation in the American political process, and their non-partisan ¡Ve y Vota! Campaign. Their ¡Ve y Vota! Campaign includes a toll-free national bilingual hotline, 1-888-VE-Y-VOTA, that provides information on voter registration, voting rights, mail-in ballots instructions, and how to vote safely and securely in person on election day.
