CHESTER, Pa. (August 24, 2022) – Philadelphia Union II announced today that they have signed midfielder Boubacar Diallo to an MLS NEXT Pro professional contract through 2023. The 19-year-old will be added to Union II’s active roster immediately.
“Boubacar has impressed us with his performances for Union II's midfield.” said Philadelphia Union Sporting Director, Ernst Tanner. “He is young, focused, and ready to take this next step. We are delighted to have him signed to a contract and look forward to his development with the club.”
Diallo, 19, has made 17 appearances (nine starts) for Philadelphia Union II this season, scoring a goal and adding one assist to his tally. He made his MLS NEXT Pro debut on March 27, 2022 against FC Cincinnati 2, registering his first shot. On April 5, 2022, Diallo scored his first goal of the season in the 88th minute against Inter Miami CF II.
