Union II will be back at Subaru Park for a Father’s Day matchup against Chicago Fire II on Sunday, June 18 at 6 p.m.. The game is the final contest of a three game homestand in Chester – the team is 1-1 so far with a victory over Atlanta United 2 and a loss against Crown Legacy FC.

On Sunday, the squad will host a Chicago Fire II team that presently sits just below Philadelphia in the MLS NEXT Pro standings at ninth in the East and 19th overall. Union II remains eighth in the conference with a 4-7-3 record so far this season.
Chicago Fire II is a familiar foe; the last time the two teams met was in April at SeatGeek Stadium, where Union II won 2-1 with goals from defender Brandan Craig and midfielder David Vazquez.
Chicago is coming to Philadelphia following a busy week featuring games against New England Revolution II and Orlando City B.
The team nearly won a hard-fought match against the second ranked New England Revolution II on June 11. Chicago defender Noah Egan was forced to leave the game in the 52nd minute after earning a second yellow card, but despite being short handed, the team rallied to level the score by the 62nd minute. Chicago lost in a shootout, scoring three goals to New England’s four. On Thursday, the team defeated Orlando City B 1-0 in Illinois.
Union II has a unique challenge ahead as the game falls on the same day as the start of MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs for the Philadelphia Union U17s. That means a handful of Union II players, including multiple from Wednesday’s starting XI, will likely be unavailable for the game in Chester.
