After occupying the top spot in the Eastern Conference table for much of the regular season, Union II finds itself in the midst of a challenging stretch of matches that had led to three-straight losses. Unlucky finishing was the issue last time out as the Boys in Blue had two chances denied by the goalpost in what ulitmately turned into a 1-0 home loss to FC Cincinnati 2. Despite the run of form, Union II still own the No. 2 spot in the table but its tight with seven points between Philly and the playoff line.

Saturday's match will be the second meeting between the two sides with the Fire earning a penalty kick shootout win on March 28th.

Philadelphia Union II finished regular time knotted 1-1 against Chicago FC II on Thursday night, forcing the game to go to a shootout from the penalty spot. Scoring four to Philadelphia’s three, Chicago finished on top, and Head Coach Marlon LeBlanc’s squad headed back home with one point in tow.

Chicago sits just three points behind Philly with an 8-6-6 record and a league best five shootout wins. The majority of their points have come in front of their home fans with the Windy City side having gone just 2-4-3 on the road. The Fire have played back-to-back highscoring matches first with a 5-0 shutout at FC Cincinnati 2 before falling by a 4-3 margin to New York Red Bulls II last time out.
