Academy: Union finish strong against PA Classics

GA CUP Academy U-17's no. 2

The final week of the regular season saw the Union academy step up and show their strength with a series of powerful performances against PA Classics.

The Union U-13s finished out the year with a string of second half goals to lift them over PA Classics at YSC. The scoreline spoke volumes, but it was the resilience and commitment that stood out for the young Union players as they demonstrated how much growth has come out of their season.

The U14s and U15s were similarly strong, with the latter group dominating play over 90 minutes behind a brace from Quinn Sullivan and a rocket of a free kick from Jackson Gilman as they rolled to a season-closing victory.

One age group up, the U17s finished their season atop the Atlantic Division standings, earning themselves a spot in the playoffs with a 2.23 points per game average. Jackson Temple scored the lone goal of the contest to lift his team to an important late-season win.

Finally, the U19s rode a monster second half to a 4-0 win. Bethlehem Steel regular Jack de Vries and Steel signee Selmir Miscic both made it onto the scoresheet along with John Wagner and Matt Myers.

This was a huge win for the U19s since it lifts them into the playoffs even though they remain even on points with Bethesda and Red Bulls, both of whom pick up wild card berths.

The Union U-15s, U-17s, and U-19s now prepare for the summer showcase and playoffs in California beginning in mid-June.

Stay tuned to Union channels for more on those events.
