After leading Philadelphia Union Academy U17s to the MLS NEXT Cup, forward Marcos Zambrano has been called by U.S. Under-19 Men's Youth National Team Head Coach Marko Mitrović for its upcoming training camp in Carson, California that will run from July 25-Aug. 2.
Zambrano was the Golden Boot winner for the entire tournament, scoring seven goals as the Union Academy rallied back from a two-goal deficit in the final.
Players born on or after Jan. 1, 2004 are age-eligible for the 2022-23 U-19 MYNT cycle. Three players called into the training camp were born in 2004 and 20 were born in 2005.
