Philadelphia Union Academy U-17s earn 2-2 draw against Cedar Stars Academy

Union Academy U17

Philadelphia Union Academy U-17s were in action this past weekend taking on Cedar Stars Academy. The group played an excellent first half and moved the ball well through the units. Going into the first half, the team held a 1-0 lead with the goal coming from Aboubacar Camara.

Shortly into the second half, Aboubacar Camara received a red card, in which the team had to play more defensively minded. The team defended well and aimed to counter-attack and scored a very good goal on 83 minutes. Jason Aoyama played a ball in behind the opponent for Axel Picazo to run onto and shoot low into the goal. Cedar Stars scored a goal from outside the area to tie the match at two at the 86 minute mark, as the match finished in a 2-2 draw.

The Union U-17s will be back in action this weekend in the GA Cup finals when they face Liga MX Youth Team from Club Tijuana on March 23. The U-17s will then take on Colorado Rapids U-17s and Montreal Impact U-17s in Group B of the Premier Division bracket.
