CHESTER, PA (May 11, 2023) – Philadelphia Union today announced that U17 Head Coach, Tobias Nubbemeyer, has come to an agreement with Bundesliga side, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, to become their new U19 Head Coach. Nubbemeyer, who has been the Philadelphia Union U17 Head Coach since July 2019, will join TSG 1899 Hoffenheim as their U19 Head Coach following the end of the Union Academy season.
Nubbemeyer has played an integral role in developing the Union Academy over the past few years, leading the team to win the U17 MLS MEXT Cup on July 3, 2022, against Columbus Crew. He also recently guided the team to a 2023 U17 Generation adidas Cup championship on April 9, 2023, against FC Dallas, achieving notable victories over Remo Stars F.C., Palmeiras, and LAFC to make it to the final.
