Union pair Freddy Adu and Sheanon Williams have been included in a list of elite MLS players under the age of 24 after being voted for by fans and an expert media panel from across the United States.
The duo are included in the 2012 edition of MLSsoccer.com’s ’24 Under 24’ feature, which lists the 24 highest ranked players under that age limit from a total of 186 eligible players.
While fans account for 10% of the vote, the rest is down to a stellar cast of media representatives, with a number of commentators, analysts and former players balloted.
Counting down from 24 to 1, the first batch of players was announced on Monday, with Union midfielder Adu confirmed in 19th spot on Tuesday – closely followed by teammate Williams in 18th.
The countdown to the top ’24 under 24’ will now continue until Friday September 21st, when the winner will be announced.
