Ahead of Philadelphia Union's opening match of Round One of the Audi 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs, Head Coach Jim Curtin provided an update on the squad heading into home match against New England Revolution.
Overall Status Updates
“Jose, Jesus Bueno, and Leon are all fully fit, ready to go, trained all week, and are doing well. Olivier Mbaizo is fully healthy, that's a good one to bring up too. Came back from the [Cameroonian] National Team, we were worried that it was going to be four or five to six weeks, maybe after the initial diagnosis. But he feels fine, and he’s fully training. So great to have him back with our group as well."
"[Jakob] Glesnes is always day-to-day. That's how it's been for the last 2 plus months, he’s been navigating a sports hernia so it becomes the issue of pain tolerance and what makes sense, and what doesn't lead to even further damage."“We’ll be intelligent with that, we'll speak with Jakob and see where he's at. But overall, we have a good group of centerbacks to choose from so whoever is called upon will be ready to go.”
