Philadelphia Union Homegrown Cavan Sullivan has been called up to the U.S. Under-17 Men's Youth National Team for an upcoming training camp in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Sullivan will be joined by Philadelphia Union Academy duo Jordan Griffin and Jamir Johnson for the camp under the direction of Head Coach Gonzalo Segares, which includes February's 2025 Concacaf U-17 Championship and cumulates with the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar. The U.S. is seeking a record 19th U-17 World Cup berth and will face the U.S. Virgin Islands, St. Kitts and Nevis and Cuba at the qualifying tournament, set for Feb. 7-16 in Alajuela, Costa Rica.
Sullivan will report to the training camp following Philadelphia Union II's appearance in the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Cup against North Texas SC. During the 2024 season, Sullivan has scored five goals and added four assists with the youngest team in the league. The 15-year-old became the youngest goalscorer in MLS NEXT Pro Playoff history this past weekend with his 42nd minute goal from long range out against Columbus Crew 2 in the Eastern Conference Championship.
