The Philadelphia Union are pleased to announce that the hometown hero for Saturday night's match against Orlando City will be Staff Sergeant Jeffrey Garcia.
Staff Sergeant Garcia is from Morrisville, Pennsylvania and has been part of the US military for 19 years, completing tours of duty in Iraq, Japan, Korea, Australia, Thailand, Italy and Guam.
He is currently assigned to the New Jersey Joint Force Headquarters Maintenance Assistance and Instruction Team based out of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.
For his services, he has received many honors including the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Army Reserve Achievement Medal. He has also earned the Army Demonstrated Senior Logistician Award from the International Society of Logistics.
