Behind strong performances against New York Red Bulls, Philadelphia Union defender Auston Trusty and midfielder Ilsinho have been named to the MLS Team of the Week.
Trailing 2-0 at the break, Ilsinho was called upon to make an offensive impact.
In short, he did.
The Brazilian turned the match on its head in a 12-minute span, first finding Jamiro Monteiro on a cutback in the box before, less than a minute later, finishing off a strong run in Skillsinho fashion to knot the match at 2-2 and send the sell out crowd at Talen Energy Stadium into a frenzy.
After a penalty kick was saved by the visitors, Ilsinho was first to the rebound, finishing off yet another chance to bag a brace and continue to be one of the top stories of the 2019 MLS season.
With the lead on the Union's side, Trusty commanded the backline to seal the 3-2 victory against their rivals. The homegrown turned in a yet another strong performance, including a team-high eight clearances, five interceptions and a blocked Red Bulls shot.
Both players are deserving Team of the Week winners for the first place Union.
