He's the best coach in MLS in 2020, but they let us say it again every seven days when Jim Curtin wins yet another Coach of the Week award.
The Union are Supporters' Shield winners and Jim Curtin got them there. On the final day of the season, Philly needed a win to secure the Shield and they got it. Every time the team experienced a setback, Curtin had them ready to rebound.
Against the Revs on Sunday night, the Union had to beat Bruce Arena's side for the fourth time in five tries -- the fifth was a tie -- to finish off the year strong. That's a tall order, but as always Curtin had his team ready.
From bringing the best out of Sergio Santos and Jose Martinez to seamlessly re-integrating Cory Burke as a supersub, Curtin always pressed the right buttons. Anthony Fontana emerged as the 2020 version of Ilsinho and Mark McKenzie became the best center back in MLS.
Curtin deserves this Coach of the Week win, and a Coach of the Year award should soon follow.
