Since his first appearance with Philadelphia Union in 2019, left back Kai Wagner has shown on the pitch he's one of Major League Soccer's best defenders and MLSSoccer.com's Extratime podcast agrees.
Hosted by Andrew Wiebe and David Gass, they ranked Wagner as the No. 3 outside back entering the 2021 MLS season.
“There was rumors of him going to the EPL for a reason and I really like what he can do in possession,” Gass said. “He was such a key piece for Philly, when they get narrow for him to get forward and create chances for those two forwards.”
During the past two seasons with the Union, Wagner has netted one goal and added 10 assists in 44 games (all starts). On the other end of the pitch, Wagner has contributed with 10 clean sheets.
