With the MLS is Back Tournament set to kick off on July 8th, MLSSoccer.com contributor Greg Seltzer put out his list of 10 players that could have breakout performances in Orlando, Florida. With a packed Group A facing Philadelphia Union with the likes of Inter Miami CF, Nashville SC, New York City SC on the schedule, the squad picked up not one but two players that Seltzer thinks could make the most of their time in Florida.
Right at the top of the list stands Union homegrown midfielder Brenden Aaronson. Already with a goal under his 2020 belt via a strike at LAFC, the hunger within the 19-year-old could be on full display when matches kick off at the ESPN Wide World of Sports.
"This Philadelphia Union midfielder enjoyed a solid rookie season in 2019 because he has the bite to win possession and the vision to move the team forward," Seltzer writes. "The team still wanted more final-third impact from Aaronson and he looked quite eager to deliver it before league play halted."
Aaronson wasn't the only Union representative on Seltzer's list with teammate Sergio Santos joining the Medford, New Jersey native.
