The 2023 Major League Soccer season kicks off this weekend and with it brings the return of MLSSoccer.com's weekly Power Rankings written by J. Sam Jones.
The inaugural rankings sees Philadelphia Union atop the rankings, above MLS Cup Champions LAFC and the rest of the pack.Â
"Just, ya know, casually bringing back every starter from a team that in 2022 tied for the most points in the league, set a record for goal differential and came minutes away from winning MLS Cup," Jones wrote. "Oh, they also added MLS-proven depth pieces at three positions that would be starting quality for other teams. So, yeah. Good luck to everyone who’s not Philadelphia."
The Boys in Blue look to do their talking on the pitch with the 2023 opener that'll take place at Subaru Park on Saturday, February 25th. Kick off against the Columbus Crew is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and fans can watch for free on the Apple TV app or with our first radio broadcast on 97.5 the Fanatic.
