To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, Philadelphia Union has annnounced an exciting collaboration with Philadelphia-based artist Distortedd.
Anhia Zaira Santana's shirt, which will be available inside the Union Shop on Saturday for Fiesta Hispana, reimagines the Union's logo by drawing inspiration from her Hispanic culture and the blueprint design of the game.
"I realize that sport is more than just a game," she told PhiladelphiaUnion.com. "Soccer is a staple in my Hispanic heritage and it has taken a culture of its own and is celebrated by fans not only in the Hispanic community but part all over the world. With this project, I wanted to combine all aspects from that culture to the blueprint design of the game. In Philly, we fully expression that passion and rage. Teams dominate like a machine against our opponents. I want fans to feel excited when they see the logo because that was my ultimate end goal. I love the energy and the pure passion that fans have about the sport and that's what I was trying to bring to the design."
