Philadelphia Union II looks to cap off the month in style as they head to Ohio for a battle with Columbus Crew 2 on Sunday evening. Don't miss the Eastern Conference clash starting at 6PM with MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
Union II is looking to bounce back after seeing its three-game winning streak come to a heartbreaking end under the lights against New York City FC II. Eddy Davis scored his 10th goal of the campaign to continue his pursuit of the Golden Boot to put the Union ahead on the road but the youthful side saw the hometeam rally back with two goals late to steal the three points.
Sunday's contest is the second time the two teams have faced off in 2024 with the Union grabbing the 3-1 victory in early June. CJ Olney and Sal Olivas led the way for the Boys in Blue, combining on all three goals. Olivas scored the first brace of his career with a pair of goals in the first half set up by Olney. The Union II midfielder that added a goal of his own with a terrific finish just before the break to regain momentum for the home side seconds after the visitors trimmed the lead.
Crew 2 currently occupy fifth place in the table with 30 points from 18 league matches thus far. Ever since they fell to Union II in June, things have been clicking on both ends of the pitch for the Ohio side as they have yet to lose a match in regulation since. During their seven-game unbeaten run, Columbus has scored multiple goals in all but two and is coming off a 6-1 rout of FC Cincinnati 2. Four different players found the back of the net for the Crew with substitute Chase Adams scoring a brace to push himself into the club lead with seven goals overall.
