Union a part of 10 nationally televised matches as MLS releases master schedule

Philadelphia Union and Major League Soccer have released the entire schedule for the 2013 season, the 18th in League history.  Each of the League’s 19 clubs will play 34 matches, 17 at home and 17 away, over 35 weeks.  The Union start their season on Saturday, March 2 at PPL Park against Sporting Kansas City at 4:00 p.m. ET on 6abc. 
This season’s slate features 13 Saturday games, which is the largest amount since the team’s inception.  In all, 10 of the Union’s 34 total games will be shown on national television, including a marquee match-up against New York on Sunday, June 23 on ESPN.  ESPN2 will air road games against D.C. United (April 21) and San Jose (September 8).  NBC Sports will carry Union games against New York (March 30, August 17), Chicago (May 11), Dallas (June 29), D.C. United (August 10) and Kansas City (September 27, October 26).

The Union’s local television schedule will be released at a later date.
All non-national TV games will be broadcast locally and/or via subscription to Direct Kick and MLS Live, the digital streaming package for MLSsoccer.com, mobile devices and tablets.
The 2013 regular season concludes Sunday, Oct. 28 with five games, followed by the MLS Cup Playoffs. Only two clubs will reach MLS Cup 2013, and the one with a better regular season record will host the championship game on Dec. 7 or 8, with details to be announced at a later date.
From First Kick to MLS Cup, the calendar footprint of the 2012 season is 267 days - the longest in League history.
In regards to tickets, full season ticket plans for Union matches are on sale now. Partial season ticket plans will go on sale Monday, January 14, and single game tickets will be available beginning January 18 at 10:00 a.m.
