Sunday could be a historic day for the Philadelphia Union as they look to claim the first hardware in team history. With both Major League Soccer and the Supporters' Shield Foundation moving to a points per game model to determine the top overall seed, there are a few scenarios that could see the Union celebrate late on Sunday.
Philadelphia will clinch best overall record in MLS ("Supporters' Shield") if:
Philadelphia win vs. Columbus AND ...Toronto FC lose or tie vs. Miami
– OR –
Philadelphia tie vs. Columbus AND ...Toronto FC lose vs. Miami AND ...Seattle lose or tie vs. Colorado
Philadelphia Union square off against the Columbus Crew on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
