Wiebe: Why the Union can win the 2019 MLS Cup

MLSSoccer.com senior host and producer Andrew Wiebe continued his annual tradition of telling the world why each club in the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs will and won't hoist the 2019 MLS Cup on November 10th.

Wiebe writes that the Union will MLS Cup "because all the pieces fit together and some of those pieces are game-changers." The combination of Kacper Przybylko and Alejandro Bedoya, both who are in line to return Sunday afternoon against New York Red Bulls according to Union head coach Jim Curtin along with midfielder Jamiro Monteiro's ability to control the midfield make the Boys in Blue a tough out. Also "Ilsinho can change it off the bench. The collective is greater than the individuals, which is a credit to Jim Curtin and all the players."

With the positives also comes the reason why Wiebe things the Union won't win the cup. Besides the Union's rough end to the season, he points out the lack of veteran central defenders noting that " it seems to matter a lot in the playoffs. Find me a team that was missing experience in that position who won the Cup. Good luck." While the Union don't have the experience in age, Mark McKenzie started in last year's postseason defeat at NYCFC and veteran Aurelien Collin brings experience that echos throughout the locker room and the defense.
