After getting a special message from her favorite Philadelphia Union player, Clara de Groot was a special guest of the club and got to experience much more than just a soccer match at Talen Energy Stadium.
The friendship began a month ago when Union defender Auston Trusty sent a get well message to Clara, who is battling leukemia. This past weekend Clara and her family were able to leave the hospital and made their way to see Trusty and the Union knock off the Columbus Crew, 3-0.
Following the match, the family was invited to the team's postgame dinner where she got to meet not only Trusty in person but other members of the Union.
