In the latest episode of Matchday Central on MLSSoccer.com, Matt Doyle and Bobby Warshaw talked about was whose next from Major League Soccer to make the move across the pond to Europe.
With Tyler Adams, Alphonso Davies, Miguel Almiron and Zack Steffen previous stars that have moved to Europe, the likes of Luciano Acosta, Paxton Pomykal and Ezequiel Barco were mentioned along with Union homegrown defender Auston Trusty.
“He athletic and more specifically a left-footed center back," Warshaw said. "Foreign markets value American center backs just look at Matt Miazga, Erik Palmer-Brown, Tim Ream, Geoff Cameron."
Matt Doyle added, “Philadelphia has made a concerted effort to invest in their Academy and they’ve seen teams like the Red Bulls and Vancouver and it’s paid off for them. They will make it whether with Trusty or Brenden Aaronson or Mark McKenzie.”
