Philadelphia Union club captain Alejandro Bedoya is pushing for more action to prevent mass shootings and gun violence in the United States. The O Captain, My Captain t-shirt will be available for purchase in the Union Shop on Sunday, August 11 when Philadelphia welcomes Houston Dynamo to Talen Energy Stadium. Proceeds from the sale of each shirt will benefit organizations Bedoya supports as they work to find new solutions to combat gun violence.
Bedoya spoke out about this issue after scoring in the third minute of last Sunday's match against DC United and expanded on his thoughts in a press scrum early this week.
