The first two expert leagues of FIFAdelphia Series 2 presented by Subaru have concluded on PlayStation 4 and down the the wire they went as the esports competitors battled for a top-three finish in league play to advance to the knockout rounds.
In Expert League Gold, bousoon swept the competition with a perfect 13-0-0 record to claim the top seed in the next round while Mf618684 claimed second place with a win in the group finale by a 2-1 margin. The final day of the competition saw both Alexpiz26 and ItMustGetLonely battling for the third and final spot in the knockout rounds. While alexpiz26 finished unbeaten in his final three contests, a 1-1 draw saw him even on points with and lose the head-2-head tiebreaker with ItMustGetLonely who won the contest between the two sides by a 2-0 margin.
Meanwhile in Expert League Blue, bonechill003 took the top spot with with 29 points in group play but the battle for the final two places came down to the trio of bhatfield11, ArinM22 and SQVIRRELBVCK. Entering the final regular season match, bhatfield11 claimed three points with a 6-2 win over Unionat to jump into second place with the highest goal differential of in the group. After ArinM22 fell by a 5-4 margin, the gamer was forced to sweat out the contest between PapiPablo1215 and SQVIRRELBVCK, with the result deciding who advanced. Unfortunately it wasn't mean to be for SQVIRRELBVCK who fell by a 4-1 margin and saw goal differential land the competitor just outside the top three.
FIFAdelphia Series 2 presented by Subaru concludes all regular season play on Wednesday, April 22 while the knockout rounds kick off on Friday, April 24th.
