Union II's run has been a historic one with the club entering the postseason having made the playoffs each of the past two seasons in MLS NEXT Pro but still in search of its first victory. With a young but hungry side, Marlon LeBlanc's team has played beyond their years with a 1-0 win over New York City FC II in the club's first-ever home playoff match. One week later, they honored teammate Holden Trent's memory with a penalty kick shootout win over Crown Legacy FC to advance to Saturday's match where a trophy and ticket to MLS NEXT Pro Cup are on the line.
