Philadelphia Union Academy U14s and U13s return to YSC Academy for MLS NEXT action over the weekend with both sides picking up favorable results against Alexandria SA.

The U14s led the way with a 4-1 win on Saturday afternoon against a physical Alexandria side. The Boys in Blue created countless chances from midfield play and kept the outside backs in the attack and when the visitors tried to spring a counter attack, the defense held well under pressure according to Head Coach Kevin Coleman. Andrew Craig, Anisse Saidi, Cavan Sullivan and Stefan Chirila all racked up goals for the squad to remain undefeated in spring MLS NEXT matches.

While the U13s didn’t not have their best performance in the offensive third, the club battled back for a 1-1 draw against Alexandria SA. U13 Head Coach Kleberson called the contest a very good challenge for his side and their center back pairing did great work to stop any chances from the opposition. Matteo Zambrano netted the club’s lone goal to see the side continue a strong MLS NEXT campaign.

In Acela League action, Philadelphia Union Academy’s U12s picked up a 4-1 win over rival Real New Jersey at Bob Bende Park in New Jersey. The U12s dominated the match from the opening whistle and pressed as a team to win back possession high up the pitch. That proved crucial for the club who had to use a field player in net but solid 1v1 defending limited any chances for Real NJ. On the scoring front, Aaron Wessah netted a hat trick while Ryder Falcone concluded the scoring with a goal of his own.
