On April 14, the U13 YSC team coached by Phil Karn took on the Virginia Development Academy, away, taking the victory home 2-0. VDA came out with a lot of energy and tried to press us through the middle third of the field. The U did an excellent job to settle into the match after about ten mins and controlled large chunks of the game with possession.
VDA played a 4-4-2 it is always a developmental challenge for our boys to play against different formations - they held their own. Marcello had two goals in the first half, one from a PK and the other assisted by Dylan Lacy. Coach was pleased with how the group handled the conditions. With a large field and the team's first taste of 80-degree weather, the elements were an added challenge. The next match is April 21st, home, against Continental FC.
