After a trio of perfect Group Stage performances, Philadelphia Union Academy's U17 team will take on Remo Stars FC in the Round of 16 at the 2023 Generation adidas Cup in Bradenton, Florida.
The Boys in Blue were 3-0-0 with shutout wins against the Houston Dynamo and Minnesota United before concluding clinching the group with a 2-1 win over IMG Academy. The offense has been a total team effort with David Vazquez, Edward Davis, Diego Rocio, Alex Perez and Daniel Kruger all finding the back of the net to help the Union advance to the Knockout Rounds.
Nigerian side Remo Stars FC finished runners up in their group with six points. They started off the tournament with a pair of 1-1 draws against St. Louis CITY SC and Strikers FC before knocking down the Portland Timbers on Monday afternoon via a 2-0 scoreline.
