After starting off their 2025 campaign with a road point, Philadelphia Union II hosts a rivalry showdown with New York Red Bulls II for its 2025 home opener at Subaru Park on Monday night.

The defending Eastern Conference Champions turned to many similar faces in their season opener at New England Revolution II, with eight first team homegrowns in the starting lineup. Goalkeeper Andrew Rick picked up a clean sheet and two big penalty kick saves in the contest but the Boys in Blue fell in kicks from the spot by a 4-3 margin.

Last week's contest saw the Union II debuts for defender Isaiah LeFlore and Union II forward Stas Korzeniowski but more changes are expected for Monday's showdown against their biggest rivals due to U.S. National Team Callups for Frankie Westfield and Kellan LeBlanc. More Union debuts could happen as a result on Monday as defenders Rafael Uzcátegui and Ramzi Qawasmy

In 2024, the two sides split the three-game season series with Union II grabbing an extra point via a shootout win. Playing the contests in just a two-month span, Union II began the rivalry showdowns with a 4-2 shootout win and then followed it up with a resounding 5-1 road win behind goals from Markus Anderson and David Vazquez. Red Bulls II responded in kind with a 4-1 road win of their own to cap off the season series.

Red Bulls II opened their season with a 1-0 road win over Atlanta United 2 via a 51st minute goal from Andy Rojas.
