GKAcademyEvent

Join us for our upcoming free Philadelphia Union Academy Goalkeeper ID session that will be held at the WSFS Bank Sportsplex on Friday, October 11th. Open to goalkeepers born between 2011 and 2013 and is limited to just 20 players. The event is a premier scouting and evaluation opportunity designed to showcase and develop the next generation of goalkeepers! This event is club neutral and there is no cost for participants.

The goal of the event is to identify a pool of goalkeepers that Philadelphia Union Academy will keep in our system and bring into train regularly as well as fill spots for the upcoming academy season. All goalkeepers should be experienced and willing to play exclusively the position of goalkeeper. Candidates should be skilled in both In possession and out of possession actions, should display a proficiency in basic movements and hand eye coordination and athleticism and be eager to learn and open to coaching and working in a team environment.

This event is an opportunity to gain exposure to the training received by Philadelphia Union Academy Goalkeepers. Whether you are looking to refine your skills or take your game to the next level, the Academy GK ID event is a platform to potentially earn your way into the academy system. The event will feature a wholistic session tailored to assess and enhance your goalkeeping skills. Participants will engage in a series of game-related activities and drills to improve their technical skills, game understanding, and decision making. Our experienced GK staff will provide valuable feedback and insights throughout the session.

The ID sessions will feature Philadelphia Union Director of Goalkeeping - Phil Wheddon, Union II Goalkeeper Coach - Ross Cain, Academy Goalkeeper Coordinator - Chad Balback, and Academy GK Coach - RJ Pino in attendance along with other members of the Philadelphia Union Staff & Goalkeeping Department.

Please Note this is not a tryout for Philadelphia Union Academy and applications should not expect an evaluation or feedback following the event.
