The first Independence Blue Cross Achievement Unlocked of the 2025 home opener came at kick off on Saturday night as Philadelphia Union battled FC Cincinnati.

Center back Jakob Glesnes made his 150th career MLS start for the club and with it became the sixth player in club history to reach the milestone. Glesnes joins Andre Blake, Alejandro Bedoya, Jack Elliott, Raymon Gaddis and Kai Wagner in the club.

The Norwegian defender joined the club in 2020 first-tier Norwegian league, Eliteserien, where he captained Stromsgodset Toppfotball. The 2021 MLS Defender of the Year has had some memorable moments with the club scoring a world class, game-tying goal in the 93' against Atlanta United FC in 2021 from 30 yards out that rocketed in off the cross bar. Glesnes also had the long-range, game-winning goal in the fist round of the Audi 2021 MLS Cup Playoffs against NYRB (Nov. 20). The goal is the latest game winner in MLS Cup Playoffs history (120+3’), as well as the latest goal in any MLS competition.
