Philadelphia Union Homegrown midfielder Anthony Fontana made his first MLS regular-season debut on March 3 in the team's 2-0 win against New England Revolution.
The 18-year-old was a strong force on the pitch for the team, appearing in the Starting XI and notching his first career goal in the match.
In the 43rd minute of play, Alejandro Bedoya sent a cross from inside the box, which deflected off the leg of CJ Sapong and found the feet of Fontana. Fontana was then able to find the back of the net with a beautiful one-timer, giving the Union their 1-0 lead over the Revs right before halftime.
Fontana’s goal turned out to be the game-winner, giving Philadelphia three points to start the season. Earning over 90 percent of the vote, Fontana's one-time was named TruMark Financial's Goal of the Month.
